Mary Beth Hernandez is Ballard Spahr’s Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer and a member of the firmwide Management Committee. She is responsible for overseeing, implementing, and providing strategic leadership for the firm’s marketing and business development initiatives, including communications, market intelligence, and media relations.
Before joining Ballard Spahr, Mary Beth held a senior marketing role at Paul, Weiss, where she advised on client development and cross-marketing. She served as Vice President and Global Business Director at Thomson Reuters, where she drove revenue and market share growth and served as the single point of contact for an elite group of global law firms. She also was Assistant General Counsel for Allied Building Products Corp.
In addition to her legal and corporate experience, Mary Beth has a background in sports broadcasting and has worked on-air and in production for outlets including NBC Sports, The Tennis Network, MSG and Fox Sports.
Mary Beth received her law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.
